was that luke chillin’ on the couch? sure looked like him.
Holy crap. I didn’t know there was that much money in being a DJ
I couldn’t link to one of his Instagram videos but there’s more - he’s got a snug with hundreds of pieces of recording equipment and synthesisers and reel tapes on the walls.
Bit of a trek to the records though…
Looks like a good place to feel really really lonely in #Batcave
Completely unacceptable footwear however.
Yeah but appropriate: bunions caused by the hike to the record shelves
#notjealoushonest
That’s the sound system that used to be in Club Vinyl he’s got there. Bonkers.
It blows my mind that the dude has to buy ikea shelving for records. Come on, get some custom made stuff to complement everything else. Granted, I doubt Tenaglia is buying much vinyl nowadays, but I could be wrong.
He definitely does. I’ve seen his hold bag at T Bag.
Moved house last year + got the garage at the new place converted as a space for my records (primarily- had to accommodate a chest freezer + tumble dryer as a compromise!). Happy with the set up. Theres one more 2x2 unit out of shot. Seen a few digs at Ikea but never had any issues and that black unit is great. They finally did something specifically for the DJ market (a collab with Swedish House Mafia, who i think we all aspired to be like at some point )
Always had to slim down my collection due to space reasons, and had a massive clearout about 8 years ago when i first moved in with my mrs so got it down from 3500 to a more sensible 2000 which is mostly all killer/no filler. If i ever move again its taking another hit though!
This is the most spacious layout ive ever had, just wish i had more time to spend in there.
As far as organisation goes, the bulk of it is hip hop split by year and then a-z, the jungle + dnb, and house is done by era, and then theres some smaller sections of reggae, 90s rnb, funk + soul, UK Garage etc
Looks like a bit of 80’s Memphis… be worth a few bob these days.
Damn that’s crazy, I always thought he was a serato guy. Wonder if he is playing records nowadays?
I think he is when he plays out but judging by that bag he probably enjoys listening to records at home. Plus some stuff is probably vinyl only and I’m assuming he rips and edits a lot of records.
I will admit to having a tiny little problem with going to what I call “my studio” late at night, smoking some herb, and taking hundreds and hundreds of photos of the mess I make as I shuffle stuff around. Oh, well, you only live once!
You want more? I could embarrass myself near endlessly. I like to make little shrines and tableaus of whatever sonic obsession I am currently indulging in.
That looks glorious. Are they all IKEA units?
Yeah. The whites are a 3x2 at one end and then a 1x2 on top of a 2x2 at the other end with all in one black piece in the middle.
