Christ you can buy an original for a third of the price.
Got to admire the chutzpah of making an outrageous price so specific as if it’s been calculated by a precise mathematical formula
If it’s a cost thing, isn’t just everything crazy expensive now? Like I feel like I’m living in the past constantly - HOW MUCH is that chocolate bar? I’m always thinking things should still be 90’s prices. And this thing about the second hand prices is that it’s totally possible to pick things up for peanuts. It’s only the new prices that hurt…
Feels like I woke up one morning about 4 or 5 years ago and everything was now twice the price it had been the day before.
And everyone seems to be okay about it! Like it’s the new normal and everyone somehow seems to be able to afford it. Coffee shops charging £5 a drink are still full of people - what’s that about???
Yeah, thought there might be more of a reaction against it but as a population I think the British are quite passive and submissive in situations like this.
I stopped buying new vinyl completely a few years ago because of the ridiculous price rise.
Lots of people in their 20s don’t seem to bat an eyelid and have this ‘just earn more money, obvs’ attitude
The old “i’m alright, Jack”
I take it you’ll be like me, then - taking quite a lot of food to WoH
Ha! Yes, we normally take plenty of cooking facilities to festivals and prep food to share between a bunch of us, but I was surprised to read no gas cannisters over 250g which proves more challenging. Lots of bloody salad it is then.
I sound well old. It’s not me, I promise, it’s my partner and her sisters…!
Also … does the world really need a 14 minute version of Whistle Bump.
I agree that generally the cost of things is almost funny now, but I did notice a sticker on my copy of boys own, philadelphia track, can’t remember the name now…barrio, drumadelphia etc, anyway it was HMV £4.49 I guess 1994 or 5. Thirty years ago and its would probably be triple that price now.
Sounds quite normal maybe?
edit New Jersey Deep i think.
ps i just bought 3 records (ones a double) from VU and it’s cost over £60!
Nope. Super Strut is better imo… and we don’t need a 20 minute rework of that either .
Only just realised the MAW mix of Erotica uses the same melody.
That Tom Sharkett edit of LCDs Home is getting released on vinyl, single sided I think, at £20.
It’s a great edit but £20 for a single sided 12 isn’t very homely. I bet it’ll sell out anyway.
Double sided 16 sheets here

It is really good I agree.
