That big Oxfam in Henley used to be great for cheap, good records 15 years ago … the internet has ruined everything!
I can confirm it is still ruined!
I was over there to pick up some early psych/rock lps- Sabbath, Velvet Underground, Floyd etc (a DJ mate hooked me up), so a decent trip.
£60, yes £60, for a used copy of Brothers In Arms in Idle Moments, Columbia Road, London.
Know it’s a Japanese copy, but still…
good grief charlie brown
Money for nothing
I’m in the process of moving so…
Condition: VG
Absurd
I think we need a CD thread of what great albums / comps we have * can share at great format
Ive got a ripped copy (lossless) of Belaeric Beats from Moonboots from DJH times
So pleased Ive got Masterccts Salsoul / Jumping etc
So want! £186
You could record collector math it.
Works out to 23 quid a record and you can get 5 pound off.
Bargain?
OK does that logic work on girlfriends?!
8 GFs might be pushing your luck.
Learned it from my wife. She isn’t impressed that I have liberated the thinking to my own vices.
Have to say that was my immediate thought
My other issue is not buying an expensive record for $80 because its too much but spending $150 on 7 records in the same store is absolutely a deal. Its even dumber when you think that all I really wanted was the $80 record.
I may need help at this point.
Have we already discussed the weird pricing of this one Michael Watford record?
https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/39234?sort=price%2Cdesc
edit: the seller has loads of records in my wantlist, all at ordinary (slightly above average) prices, so not one of those random sellers where every record is £500 for no reason
is it possible, with 25000 items for sale its a simple typing error on the decimal point (although at 43.99 it would still be more than twice the price of the next most expensive)?
im still a big fan of the ‘best copy on discogs’ man. or the chap that promised to send out your records wedged between two slices of plywood.
Also marked up as “Low priced, quick worldwide delivery”
I’ve seen that seller price random records oddly before, there’s a VG+ copy of this up for 19 Euros for example, but he’s decided to go with £574.86
