Anyone actually get hold of this record? Ordered last year for stateside delivery from LITA and have gotten four emails notifying that it’s being pushed out.
I ordered mine from Bandcamp in October… and received this shortly after
“ We are very sorry to have to report that it has come to our attention that a small percentage of copies of both AB & CD Sakura vinyl discs may be affected by a pressing fault which causes excessive surface noise on some copies. The issue is known as a “fill” issue; what happens is the grooves in the stampers used to press the discs become partially contaminated or clogged during the run, this occurred at the end of the pressing run on one set of stampers used.
While this issue affects only a limited number of copies, we are not able to identify the affected copies by batch or by visual inspection.
We are working with the pressing plant to recycle all copies we have here and that are going out to distribution and a new pressing is underway that will guarantee only clean copies are available from here on out. This will unfortunately take 4-6 weeks because of the custom colour compound chosen for the Skintone Edition. The press will be made from new stampers and have a high level of additional QC to guarantee a clean press.
This issue is very frustrating for us and we are sure for you too, but it is very rare and we are thankful that we are able to put it right.
A big thanks goes out to the fans who did receive the first copies that shipped and immediately got in touch with us to let us know about the issue so quickly and with such kindness that it allowed us catch it early and save any frustration (although we know it’s still very disappointing for those of you who have received a bad copy).”
Not sure if it stems from the same issue. Took about 8 weeks to get my copy after that.

Not sure where best to put this…
I have 18 cardboard boxes that need a home. 13 x 13in so perfect for vinyl storage. All have marker pen on and need taping when assembled.

Down south visiting folks for a few days. Popped into a local record shop. They had an EX+ UK copy of Axelrod’s “Song of Innocence”. Checked it over, lovely copy.

Best boot find was in village I grew up in ( Id moved) near Grantham as my mate was selling at it
I walked in to see him & the Girl Guides stall on way in ( not main bit) had record box with virtually every Walter / Wendy Carlos album in mint condition for £1 or 3 for £2
Not my bag so minded the stall while he bought them all up

I’m literally kicking myself. I had the ‘porno tache’ cover at one point, then sold it thinking I’d pick up the psychedelic one at some point. Cut to years later realising I never re-bought it.

Didn’t Cannonball Adderley produce some of his albums and then he produced some of Cannonball Adderley’s? I always liked that.

Check them out - they are mindblowingly good. One in particular - could be saggitarius. Can’t remember though. It’s one with a very strong character.

The very big one I go to most weeks has around six or seven people who go for records only, me being one of them. Ten years ago it was me and two others. You need to arrive earlier and earlier to make it worthwhile. I used to get there around 8, now it’s 6.30am. It’s ridiculous really, but then I got a first press of Nico “Chelsea Girl” for buttons the other week and if I hadn’t been there at 6.30am I wouldn’t have got it…
I’m an early riser anyway, usually awake before 6am most days, so it makes no odds, but there is a lot of competition. Happily none of the above people are very interested in either pre 2000s dance music or weird world and ambient records, so that helps.

As a teenager my mum used to force me out of bed at 6am to go to the boot fairs with her, either buying or selling.
If selling, bleary-eyed me would have to deal with a crowd of blokes in sheepskin jackets appearing literally as soon as the car boot was unlocked going ‘any watches? any jewellery?’ etc etc. Now it’d be ‘any Italo?’ I guess.
(And no mum, in case you ever read this, a lukewarm tea in a polystyrene cup and a bacon roll did not make it worthwhile.)

Having just moved my collection for the second time in two years, I’m about ready to say “fuck vinyl,” but I have a weird idea/plan of what to do with it. If it’s entertaining enough I’ll pester you with updates. Suffice it to say it looks like this in my storage right now:
Or at least part of it does - that’s about half.
Anyway, I’m shopping for a disco ball.
