Seriously fuck vinyl!

I’m actually noticing the price of downloads increasing quite drastically on Bandcamp recently. More and more examples of single tracks being sold for 5, 6, even 7 euros.

Or they make you buy the whole release when there’s 3 tracks you will never play. It’s almost enough to make me start buying vinyl again!

I only ever sold at a car boot once, the vultures swarming the car and making super low offers as we were unpacking put me off for life. Before we’d managed to get it out one bloke started going through a box of stuff on the back seat without even asking.

Standard unfortunately at most places these days, be it vinyl or games or trading cards. Very poor behaviour, and vultures is a very apt description.

We’ve been doing our Test Pressing downloads for 1.50 and cheaper when you buy the whole record but I’ll have to move it to 2 soon. I seem to buy quite a few for radio etc and 2 feels a fair price from what I can tell.

Yep, that checks out! No manners. Fortunately my mum (who’s from Oldham) was more than a match.

Paul Young- No Parlez, yours for just £49.99 in Kingsland Records, Hackney.

Surely ,not even it being on “marbled vinyl” can justify this.

Haha - that’s the perfect embodiment of the nonsensical state of the reissue market. The most ubiquitous chazza shop classic.

Just seen there’s a reissue of Imagination Nightdubbing which will set you back £40.

Don’t see the point really - a relatively easy find, cheap record on the secondhand market.

Just give it a clean and turn up the gain.

No comprende

I don’t know the shop, but gotta question the buying here- ‘I know, let’s give the distro £30 for this ubiquitous bargain bin classic’

Or it could just be some excellent Balearic trolling!

I was tempted by the Sounds of Blackness - Pressure unreleased Frankie mix, but it was the best part of 40 quid for one (albeit great) track.

Still sold out everywhere and now one copy on Discogs for £156!

yeah the pricing for that was a pisstake

Got my copy for £3!

All the Joe claussell/cosmic arts edits and reissues are like that unfortunately. All sell out as well.

I still prefer the P1 Classic Vocal with that glorious intro. This P2 Lullaby mix just feels like an extension of the Intro. Nice, but not £156 nice.

first time i saw one of those prices on the phonica website i thought it was a joke.

Read ( I think RJNYC on BSky) there is a question of original audio source
Is it from a Mix tape?

I see that the next one is his edit of Dido. A broad church…

seriously bullshit. I don’t overpay for records anymore. There’s enough affordable gems everywhere

totally, part of the fun is finding something overlooked.

these days i find a lot of sellers on discogs are open to offers and taking their prices down a notch if you just ask them nicely. – and i don’t feel bad about that as most bought what they’re selling way before prices went up, and i think they know that too!
