Revolver was released 60 years ago today. Played, dissected and analysed to death of course… fond memories getting a songbook when I was about 8 which had ‘eleanor rigby’ on there. Really easy to play after 4 or 5 attempts, on one of those tinny, entry level Yamahas with the bossa nova presets. Should’ve kept up the keyboard practice, fool.

60 years! Was my favourite Beatles album for a long while but usurped By Abbey Road which I dismissed when I was younger but now see it as their best…

There’s nothing like the feeling of looking up an album you’ve owned but forgotten about to find that it’s in high demand and worth money. I imagine it’s what someone looking to shill their beat up copy of Pink Floyd is looking for.

I played a gig on saturday night and used digital for the first time ever. I didn’t mind it, carried my own little stick and surprised a few people.
Picked up my phone on Sunday morning to browse CDJs. How much??!?
I think I’ll stick to records

This is a fair point. I don’t mind digital but I would say that one of the main downsides is that they’re constantly changing the tech. Doesn’t seem like too long ago that CDJs using actual compact discs would be a couple of grand and they’re old hat already.
Same with controllers being upgraded, and the various software required etc. I did find having to keep up with the various upgrades and changes a bit tiresome. It takes away from the actual “playing music” thing.
