I don’t know if there any other Self Esteem fans here…but her ‘Prioritising Pleasure’ is 100% a perfect pop album. It’s not my usual fair but they were headlining the Green Man festival this year, so gave it a good listen and quickly became the family sound track to the year. Not a single dud.

Totally agree on Sugababes / Overload.
It had just came out and I was in the Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street (im sure that’s where I was) as my friend told me even though it wasn’t that good in there at the time he was picking up some reasonably prices Rap album imports. When I was in there (I dont think I found the rap imports, I dont think there were any) Overload came on the in store sound system, it sounded incredible, I remember customers dancing /jigging around a little, it sounded so good .
Still love the track now.

To some extent I hope not, because these reunions always just seem like cash grabs, and there is no way they can be as good as they were. In fact all of this is because of the movie coming out on IMAX all restored and everything, and that movie is the number one reason why they shouldn’t try a reunion: it’s goddamn excellent and will forever be a statement of what that group was like in its peak. Why spoil that, when you can see it on IMAX? I’m glad they are getting along and doing interviews and stuff, though.
(BTW this is when living in a country like Brazil ain’t so great. Absolutely no news on whether I’ll get to see Stop Making Sense hit the cinemas here and boy would that experience be worth it!)
