If there was a golden era of pop for me, it was that period of the 80s when a lot of hugely charismatic, largely gay musicians all seemed to emerge out of the UK at the same time, making absolutely timeless music ‘welcome to the pleasuredome’ ‘west end girls’ ‘smalltown boy’ ‘club tropicana’ ‘you spin me around’
