Creed’s marketing has always rubbed me the wrong way and their scents (outside of Green Irish Tweed) never really grabbed me - this sounds fascinating:

How strange you should say that, as I’ve got a 5ml coming with that discovery pack I won as part of the prize haha.
Another one that really blew me away recently was ATH Oud Noir, beautiful scent, get yourself a sample if you haven’t already

Ah cool. I do need to try some of ATH’s stuff, but I’ll be honest, I find the bloke highly irritating.
I’ve been back to his YT channel a few times in an attempt to change my view.
I just can’t get past all that “are you ready to engage with your higher self?” bullshit. He thinks he’s some kind of guru. There’s no authenticity there.
Having said that a few people seem to be raving about his stuff, so he must be doing something right.
Haha indeed, I’ve caught a couple of his videos and thought the same.
His frags are hit and miss. Lots of very sweet smelling stuff. Most interesting ones id say are Onyx (really nice rose oud), Tabac (a love it or hate it strong animalic tobacco), Oud Noir, Guapo and Daddy.

Yeah the heritage is questionable. Their batch control is awful too.
I do love Aventus though despite everyone wearing it. That fragrance has kept them afloat for sure.

I used to wear a Tauer fragrance called L’Eau. It was mainly lemon blossom and musks but it smelled incredible.
Discontinued.
Still gutted.

I was exposed to them in the early days - restocking Guerlain Vetiver around 2006 a shop clerk pushed me to Creed’s “Original Vetiver”. I loved the scent and found it online for rather cheaper. I was able to get a few more including GIT, Bois du Portugal, etc.
I began to realise something was amiss when I bought Mugler’s Cologne, which smells exactly like the Creed OV, and later that BdP was nearly a dead knockoff of Nicolai’s New York. I never restocked and didn’t think much more of them until I heard people going nuts for Aventus, which I still haven’t tried. Selling knockoffs at inflated prices with an aura of exclusivity is smart business strategy and no surprise they cashed out well. One of these days I’ll go get a whiff of Aventus…

Going into my folks house today for Christmas dinner as they are going to the canaries for Christmas, lots of presents for us and the kids…and I’m sure I’ll have a lynx set as I do every year… Lol

Have you tried Nicolai’s NY Intense? I never got to smell the original NY, but this stuff is knock out. BdP vibes for sure, but so much better. There’s an orangey smoothness to it that I can’t resist.

Hmmm will have to try. I have the OG New York which is incredible but gives off a “mature” & moneyed vibe that I’m not always wanting to project. I wear it with a jacket & sweater or suit…

In which case, if you have the OG then NYI is just going to be similar if not the same.
IFRA regs came in and Nicolai had to reformulate NY which left fans disappointed. NYI restored it back to its former glory, or so I’m led to believe.
