Does anyone have experience of the eventide h 90 effects pedal in their set-up? It’s quite pricey (around €800), but seems like a really nice bit of hardware for effects. If anyone has one, I’m wondering if you find it easy enough to navigate around in everyday use?

I have one of it’s the white one. First model before they put two engines in. The app is really useable and it’s a pretty deep fx unit.

Just tried some free stem seperation software and the results are pretty good. Makes stems and an instrumental version. Drums came out great. Used Lamont Dozier - Going Back To My Roots.

Results to check…

I am a big Xfer Serum user and Francis Preve was the one that got me into it. You can find some of his blogs on the VST here.

BTW if someone knows some nice dub sample packs, free or paid, please share a link with a friend

There’s some bits and bobs on this ridiculously ‘90’s looking, but gold, site.

Got the new Ableton Push about a month ago. Feels good not being tied to a computer or even a plug to make stuff, and the MPE pads are great for performing and making things feel a bit more human.

Fallen into the habit of making new loops everytime though as there is no arrangement view.

I just can’t support Behringer. Such arseholes

Fair does mate. It’s different to me than ordering a book off Amazon. Disentangling yourself from arseholes in this post-capitalist world is almost impossible. I try, but almost always fail.

Totally get that. They do some brilliant stuff and it’s hard to argue against from a kit perspective!

What do you good people think about Prophet 6 and Oberheim by Dave Smith? In the next two years I would like to invest in a analog polyphonic synth and these two are on the top of my list. Prophet 6 is more affordable and I think, I might be wrong, more versatile. But, the Oberheim has that very nice synthwave character.

The prophet 6 and OB 6 are very very similar instruments, I believe the OB-6 just has an Oberheim filter option which might be what you are looking for, but they are almost interchangable. Both are great. I like the looks of the OB-6 better myself.

Having said that, the new Prophet V or Prophet 10, now that is a whole other level. The Prophet V is my favorite synth of all time and I’d love to own one. My second favorite is the Oberheim OB-Xa and wouldn’t you know it, there’s a new great version of that too, the OB-X8. If you’re springing the cash, I’d look at these first as they are more “individual” in their differences than the earlier Prophet 6/OB-6 duo.
