Does anyone here have any experience of using a Universal Audio Apollo twin with ableton Push? I’m having trouble triggering a Model-D synth using my Push and it’s driving me doo-lally. I can monitor the model-d, so it doesn’t seem to be a problem with the Twin set-up. Looks more like a problem between push and the model-d. Not sure though. I’ve tried many YouTube vids with no joy. I figured I’d try you guys just in case……

In Live Preferences have you got Push selected as the Control Surface and in the Outgoing section Sync turned on? (you may also need Track And Remote switched on too)

Thank you for replying. In the midi section of ableton preferences I have the control surface selected as push 2 and I have the input and output selected as ableton push 2 (live port).

In the midi ports section I have ableton push 2 (user port) selected with track and remote « on » and sync «off ».

I can trigger the model d using another synth via midi, so must be related to what you are suggesting. Thanks again for your help. Driving me nuts all afternoon!

I assume you’re using a MIDI cable from UA interface to the synth? Can you try the Live stock External Instrument plugin, set the midi channel to whatever the synth is using and set the input to the Live port. See if that works?

Are you on Windows or MacOS?

Ive got all my synths combined via an adat and running into the Apollo twin via the optical in. This is the same setup as I have for my drum machine and it’s working fine. There’s no midi out of the model d.

I’ll keep at it and let you know how I get on.

Thanks again Sir. It’s really appreciated.

Sorry - Mac!

Bingo!!! Your idea of using a standard external instrument did the trick. The routing of my model d must be the problem.

Thank you so much man! I owe you one.

It’s no wonder that model d’s sound so filthy - by the time you get them fired up the exasperation levels are sky-high!!

Have a lovely evening.

Anyone using UAD Luna? I’m trialling the Pro Bundle and currently attempting to finish a mix in there.

I thought Logic was a bit confusing, fark me!

What’s the best way to sell on old synths?

I’ve got a Casio cz5000 that I bought on whim and I’ve never really got my head around.

Have a look at Reverb.com.

Yeah there’s a 30 day trial of the Pro bundle too. I’ve just actually bought it, it’s really good!

d16’s 808 and 909 clones. I’ve only just tried them out since buying them stupidly cheap for Black Friday. Damn, they are good. I will never fart about with samples again.
