Per my post in the Tenaglia thread I’m guessing that this style is not to the prevailing taste of the folks on here but if you went out mid 90s in nyc this was a big part of the sound and very representative of Cafe Con Leche which imo is one of the greatest and most important parties of the 90s in nyc (it also has hands down one of the most proper wiki entries I’ve ever seen Cafe con Leche (Sunday party) - Wikipedia). Anyway to me this is the sound of many wild nights- great dancing, lots of fights, true melting pot of gay/straight/don’t label me and half these same folks would be out earlier in the week at a flip squad party or chill factor or a dancehall joint.
