Oh, to live somewhere that actually has a local scene*. Was reasonably lively around here in the 90s and early 00s but think it pretty much died off when everyone got old and no one stepped up to replace us.

*I mean, there might be one, but maybe I’m too out of touch to know about it!

There are a few down here, but for sheer staying power Rob Luis is a local hero - used to love this sweaty mid-week basement night in the 90s; he’s still playing sets that can cover pretty much every genre of black music and never miss.

Danny shipped his WONK system to Sitges a few years back and has been enjoying a new lease of life ever since. How they managed to get a beach party past the local plod I will never know!

A little plug for some mates (some of you might know Slim, Rupi et al) in Brixton who do a semi-regular thing called OSHI @ Arch 535 - more on the deep techno/electro side of things (they sometimes get the likes of Colin Dale down)
