Not a good time for Volkswagen owners…
They were on fire that whole tour. They played Glasgow Barrowlands and it was legendary. I once heard a bootleg tape of the gig and it sounded raucus (and rollus)!
Thats my memory too. Also preyty vivid!
Oh, wow. Never knew that existed. Thanks.
Sent this pic to a mate of mine. He went to the Beasties show a few days before this. He also taped Run DMC on Mike Allen’s show that week
My mate nicked a badge off a teachers car at school and got caught with it in his bag…
Same, my mate (RIP) ripped a chrome 10" one off our hard-nosed PE teacher’s beloved polished old camper van in the school car park…
Outer Limits related stuff
I remember the Edit Block with Mr C and Juan Atkins so clearly! I spent an hour stumbling around coming up, tripping over people sat around the walls, and unable see anything due to the strobe in otherwise total darkness
Great charts!!
Just showed these to Simon who ended up with the shop much later.
Worldbeats?
Yes, Worldbeats. A golden time for a record shop, much less so later on.
I used to chat to Picci in there for ages. At one point ('91/92) I had a flat in New Bradwell ten minutes walk away from Wolverton.
World beats was before my time but I have heard a few stories. Love the gig costs £15 with coach. Strange how we are susposed to still create an event for £10 or £15 nowadays. It was Tree House, then Phat Trax and then sold to Eddie as records lost favour and the internet became stronger.
Yeah I remember Tree House
I bet that seemed quite £££ for the time
