I have a real penchant for music that sounds like it would perfectly soundtrack dystopian sci-fi movies. It’s not music I’d generally play out because of it’s feeling of sadness, vast emptiness and foundless hope. To double down on those feelings, here’s an hour’s worth:

We’ve done a new mix. It’s loosely got a ‘moon’ theme to fit in with our cosmic vibe. All the soundbites throughout are the dulcet tones of the late, great Carl Sagan.
Probably my favourite part of putting the mix together was rewatching episodes of his Cosmos series and watching his lectures on YouTube.

Earlier this year I put together a mix for a local festival called Tier Plus, which was organised by our very own @henrycomb. The mixes were to be played in a small chill out area in a clearing next to the woods, which had been nicely titled “hedgerow_fm”.
Inspired by this title, I used a record of East Anglian birdsong that I had recently picked up to help piece the mix together. I never posted it on here, so here it is, complete with tracklist and a picture of the lovely field recording record in question:
