In Memoriam…

I saw Him at the Zapp dancing with his shirt off in about '92. He was really friendly and easygoing.

Ian Lavender cruelly snatched away from us at only 77.

Always had a soft spot for him. RIP.

At least his name will live on due to his legendary night spot. I know, I know, stupid boy…

toby keith, but probably not of any interest to this audience.

maybe he changed in ways i’ll never know but i have no reason to believe he was a good dude. he was MAGA before MAGA was a thing. one of the early indicators that “modern country” music was headed in a toxic direction. bleh.

the name alone takes me back to 2003 and the jingoism of the Bush II years.

Me too. Really affected me this one. Always found him impenetrable and I loved him for that alone

EDIT. I think that’s why I always loved Mark E Smith too.

Yeah, I always found him mysterious and very exotic. He had his own thing and did it brilliantly.

Saw him play at Yes in Manchester a few years back, basically one tune for about an hour completely out there and spectacular. RIP

I had the pleasure of interviewing him for an hour or more back at my old radio station. I’ll have to find the cassette I recorded it onto now. Looking at the date on his signature here it was almost exactly 20 years ago to the day.
