Met Jesse Jackson when I worked for the Labour Party, I think around 2010. I think he was quite shocked how threadbare the organisation was at the time. He told us we would win the election. He was wrong.
I met him in Dallas in 1995 - I had a wacky uncle who was a Ross Perot acolyte and we went to Perot’s convention which was attended by politicians of all stripes, all trying to get to Perot’s voters. As a 13-year old kid I was starstruck, he oozed charisma.
Yeah he definitely had it. Edit/ a former colleague reminds me I met him again in 2015 and he told us the same duff prediction ![]()
Aw man? Rest In Power Bob Power
Aww thats sad. His interview where he talks about fx and mastering is really really good. He did a lot of brilliant work.
dash crofts. as we all know, “sweet green fields” is a jam.
seeing rumblings around that dj dan (dan wherrett) has passed.
he was a pretty big deal around here - and did really well for himself in the states. he was also a super nice guy, while i didn’t really care for his style, he was always great to talk to, and had the type of energy you sort of envy.

Chris Sullivan’s son Finbar, absolutely tragic loss. Much love to the family.
Horrific.
There has been a spate of phone thefts with knives near my daughters school in south london recently. Scary shit.
Bambaataa’s gone. 67.
A hero of mine until the child abuse stories about him came out.
I met him at a break dancing convention when I was 10 or 11 and had his autograph on a kit kat wrapper : ) though yeah those rumours were no good.
“Have a break, have a kit kat”
So that’s where the slogan came from.
I met him a few times early UK hip hop. He was just a legend back then. Was a blow when the stories surfaced.
Moyà Brennan from Clannad. I saw her at a tiny festival about 15 years ago, a voice so beautiful she made me cry.
