HOLALALAAAA. Introduce yourself here

Phil Cooper aka Phat Phil Cooper, was a full time DJ for many years based in the North West, UK, now relegated to radio, various shows on stations including Ibiza Global, and now residing in Ibiza after a 5 year stint in Bali, Indonesia. Been running labels since the late 90s.

Stumbled into House Music in the late 80s while attending a ‘Smiths’ convention in Manchester, UK and attending the Hacienda, a story I do love to recount when the mood is right, if we meet, I will tell you!!! :o)

Keen walker / hiker, currently exploring the ‘other’ side of Ibiza and crunching gravel every few days and finding long forgotten fincas and deserted beaches.

Yearning for travel again and seeing friends for early morning Adriatic or Med based adventures.

Hello I’m Joe, originally from Berkshire my initial dance floor experiences were mainly the less commercial side of mid 90s Birmingham, Oscillate, Atomic Jam etc.

I got into dance music through the page they used to have in the NME, the name escapes me, and at the time was massively into early Warp, Aphex Twin, FSOL, Megadog and Orbital, who I saw at Glastonbury in 1994 which blew my 18 year old mind! I have always been into the more ambient and psychedelic side of music and the visual side of rave culture rather than the hardcore clubbing bit. I’m still learning new things, making new discoveries and widening my tastes.

Now living in Worcestershire, teaching arty things to sixth formers with a lot of record collecting, a bit of DJing and some general untethered creativity alongside.

Hello all. I was on DJH with virtually the same name… Miss it and delighted to see this. I met some people who really influenced me and had some great times thanks to DJH and perhaps this forum can do the same.

At the risk of this sounding like one of those cringe LinkedIn biogs I’m Will, originally from Manchester, got turned on to music via Sankeys and Vinyl Exchange basement, landed in London at peak disco revival (revival?) in 2006. Spent a lot of time in Phonica, MVE (hi Jamie) etc. and did some quality lurking on DJH.

Music adventures now largely confined to the MVE Instagram feed and whatever the postman brings… Huge thanks to Paul for setting this up, let the games commence

Marius Circus here. Quite a few familiar names from the DJH days here, which is good to see.

Since then, I’ve pretty much given up on playing records to anyone outside my own household, but got pretty serious with the music making at some point. I started a tiny label called “In The Garden”, as an outlet for my own music. I was getting a bit fed up with having to depend on other people’s agendas. As I had a bit of an idea on how to approach it as well as the necessary contacts (see below) I decided to just do it myself.

Spent 2008 to 2018 being a lawyer at an organization representing artists (artists as in musicians) here in Norway. Have been the CEO of the same organization for the past 2 ½ years.

3 kids, 1 wife, 1 puppy. Way too many synthesizers and drum machines.

Hi,
I’m known to most as Matt.
Pop music grabbed me when I was a nipper in the 70’s, led me to electro and Prince in the early 80s, techno in the 90s, disco in the naughties and has me still firmly between her beautifully twinkling jaws.
I VJ’d for Weatherall in the Heywire days and work in VFX now. I make music and DJ for fun.
(Also known as DJ TWAT, Squirrel Meat Productions and SniGGer)

Was Bill Hairyarse, a lurker on DJH. Born Oldham, moral code Wigan, live in Sheffield. Radio sound engineer, mainly radio drama so get to work with music / musicians a fair bit. Really bad memory recall.

Hello all! An Australian living in SE London here, I do a monthly dub focussed radio show on an emerging community radio station called RTM FM. The station is based in Thamesmead.

Other than that you’ll find me and the my kids hanging out out at Charlton skatepark in the summer and freezing our bits off at home in the winter.

I often go to that skatepark with my mate and his kids. Nice vibe up there : )

Hey,
nice to meet all of you, and nice to find a place like this, specially during those times where everything feels on pause.
I’m Quentin from Paris, France, long time Testpressing reader, had been lurking the DJH forum a bit while it was ongoing.
Mostly party promoter with Bruits de la Passion, a (now) big crew doing all sorts of things since a couple of years in paris and all around France, we actually had the chance to get Paul to come and djs a couple of times some years ago, good fun, cheers Paul

Howdo. Tony - originally from the North East but have spent time in the East Mids and North West, where I currently reside. Nude night and Venus - knew Timm when he only had one ‘m’. Semi-regular on Faith so recognise a few names already.

More house than balearic. Knowledge gets a bit sketchy after 1995, which is when I knocked the vinyl addiction on the head and got a mortgage instead. Run/ran a nostalgia based blog on Tumblr, but mostly hang out on Twitter trying to be funny. I’ve missed forums.

Totally agree Phil. I’ve never had Facebook or Twitter but I did start a couple of Instagram accounts a couple of years ago, one for music and one for work. It strikes me that Instagram can feel a little ‘all surface, no feeling’ and can be a bit unsatisfying.
Great to spend time on here, learning, sharing and conversing. :+1:
