Could you argue your profit is only based on what you originally paid for in the 1st place?
( & I once worked for a Big Accountancy?)

I think thats the nub of it really -
“If you’re selling personal possessions you probably do not have to pay Income Tax on these.”
with the exception that if you sell something that has appreciated far beyond its initial cost
“You’re renovating your home and decide to sell a picture you own using an online marketplace. You bought it 5 years ago for £4,600 and you sell it for £7,000.”
so theyve set a fairly reasonable limit of 6 grand as the point at which you need to consult them.
Just got two weird emails from someone or something via Discogs. I’m not clicking the links. Has anyone else had these they look dodge to me.
Erm no
Definitely dodgy without a shadow of a doubt
Yep, got the same notification today from two separate Discogs profiles, looks v wrong eh?
There not showing up in my inbox on discogs.
Avoid people!!
I’ve had exactly the same thing, 3 now, also from the same named accounts, I’ve just deleted them. hope discogs sorts it out.
Haven’t had one of those, but did have a message a couple of days ago which said my account had been frozen for selling until I’d verified it, which turned out to be dodgy.
And a recent purchase from a particularly shady sounding character who bought a copy of this:

Hahahahahaha!!!
Yeah still waiting for feedback from that seller

hahaha… sorted that now.
Yeah, there was loads of phishing messages a few days ago
There’s a Discogs status page reporting it
Given I work with Digital Fraud wondering the angle unless its just PW steal as you can reuse somewhere else
Has anyone been hacked, had their prices reduced & collection suddenly sold
