This one is a pretty solid VG+. I have another copy, I’ll see if it’s clean and if so it’s all yours.
I used to work with Richard Denton - he was an editor who also wrote music and eventually went on to run the BBC Religion Department while being a very staunch atheist. Here’s some early work of his about composing and its a banger
Not my score but was talking to a fellow car boot soul last weekend who told me he had found an OG copy of Barbara Moore’s Vocal Shades and Tones LP in a charity shop a few weeks back for a quid, so there are still grails out there …
Thank you!
First local car boot of the year and straight off the back of a night shift. Safe to say my wallet was not required. G’night!
I’m thinking of cutting right back and spending my summer mornings doing something else instead. There is a endless stream of record fairs and shops that seem to keep me in cheap records, I had the above prices on Perry como a few weeks back.
edit: my mate used to finish the nightshift at the local club riding the wave of pop dance/trance/judge jules crap and visit the boot 6am early. Washed down with greasy spoon at Junction 13 bus station.
Respect to you !
Ended up with a dodgy version of Francois-Hardy, mono marble arch pressing could well suck. Half price sale in shop almost compensated for crazy prices, won’t go back. . I dumped a load of £10 plus tunes in to the lap of another reseller as I pulled them. Even at a pound a go the crashed economy won’t shift these.
Had that Antonio B on my wants already, that’s a tough 50p find. I fled out the coffee shop to retrive when I saw the name Alan Weekes on the Carroll Thomson, nice bit of lovers rock there, got a couple of 12’s from her too.
Lots of keen younger record hounds about and a good bit of banter on the Saturday

I didnt see Billy Island on the RSD2025 list!
Was it big at Ku?
That was a quid from the car boot! Definitely Mega Balearic!
Every box of pop 12" never contains this Idol tune, had to resort to ebay on this one. How many have you picked up over the years? Goes down very well and sounds huge.
Ive always thought his version of Forgot to be your Lover was ripe for a re-edit
I can’t even remember when I got mine - 90s? Never bothered picking up again until yesterday as this copy looks hardly played. Seems to be going up in value due to the kids loving it. Immense record as you say!
Reminds me that I bumped into a neighbour yesterday who takes his dog for a walk at the car boot and is far more regular than me.
He asked if I’d seen the box full of sleeved up Johnny Mathis LPs (I had but forgotten)
“Oh yeah, right next to the box of only Shirley Bassey’ I recalled😄
Had a wander down there yesterday. Spent two hours flicking through everything and didn’t even get through one aisle. Some great stuff but too overpriced especially given the bizarre no man’s land location.
Charity shop pick ups this morning - Miles Davis - Porgy & Bess 70s copy, the soundtrack to Sideways (one of my favourite films), Chris & Cosey comp LP, Ultra Vivid Scene - Mercy Seat 12”, and a field recording of a Dawn and dust bird chorus. Variety is the spice of life!
I’ve got Soledad Brother. It’s quite entertaining.
Nice. That’s a good find (Annette), though I’d have grabbed the others too
Like the mid 90’s at the moment!
