Both those stan getz lps are tops. As sampled by the pharcyde.
Probably a years worth of quality hauls for many in single day. Well done as ever.
Years ago I was chating to a stall holder down the boot who had a good eye for music and Hi Fi gear. I’d just picked up ‘The Nightfly’…he had found the actual deck pictured on the cover that morning, although I still don’t know the specific model.
That was MK bowl, very much missed, found the vast majority of my record collection there.
Wonderful albums. Selling them on, I’ve got nice UK mono copies of both now. God knows how many of these I’ve found over the years - at least two every year. They must have sold stacks of them over the years - often find them mixed up with loads of easy listening shite.
That’s amazing about the deck! Keeping this copy of the Nightfly, the cover is a bit bent and worn but the LP looks and sounds hardly touched and it’s marginally better than the one I have (going up on eBay). MK car boot the stuff of legend!
A mixture of charity shop and car boot finds from this weekend, total spend was about £25.

Also got these two Egyptian 7”s (50p each!) that aren’t on Discogs.
I did also have a haul from a weekend in Barcelona to post but there’s a traumatising story involving them going “missing” which I haven’t quite got over yet, and I still hold out some hope I’ll be reunited with them
Popped in to Spitalfields Market record fair today…
The Quick – Zulu for a quid
Sonny Rollins– What’s New? for a fiver
And these 3 for a tenner
Talking Heads – Slippery People
New Order – Round&Round
Prince – U Got The Look
For anyone living in (or willing to travel to) The Fine City, this is tomorrow:
The third edition of a record fair featuring (mostly) local collectors, selectors and dealers. The last two have been great and I’ve picked up plenty of long time wants and new discoveries at decent prices. This time it’s held in a pub and has DJ’s on all day - I’ll be heading along after watching Norwich win the East Anglian Derby…
Cheap secret Weapon? Probably not secret at all…no idea when or where mine was found.
Edit: good finds, I’m letting the side down…
Slightly hazy haul from yesterday…

On a big Lovers tip clearly… Also picked up this lovely 7 that was produced and put out by a mate of mine, only 40 copies -
So many reggae covers. Great selection and that new 7 sounds great to me.
Last weeks bootsale nutcase made a beeline for yours truly and started going trying to go through the same crate as me (leaving the other crates). I appreciate the threats of having my lights put out or worse every Sunday…actually not at all. The brave lady stall holder helped this time to disperse him, ironically he doesn’t even look at the records, just wants a punch up…fucking hell!
In calmer teritory, this is the pressing of Moments In Love you want, Beaten mix. I know the guy selling these who is well into disco side of music, he must be putting them out for me as this was the most expensive at £4, along with Barry White & Glenn Jones. The rest £2 a pop, plenty of US and Canadian pressings today (I haven’t listed them all) which might be better sonically.
Just a edit for the very very guilty 7, apologies but I want a 12 of this…

What a Jam!
£2 a go. Projection is a absolute beauty of a tune, did well today. Spent more on sausage rolls and coffee than records, but made up with my finds.
Rose Royce was a priced shop item but occasionally you just don’t cock about when handed one the of best records ever…period…cheers.

Some interesting things from two car boot sales over the weekend. The Blue Note is a first US mono pressing - long time since I’ve found one of those at a car boot. The Bonnie Dobson LP is ace folk / sitar. The Bruton library LP is full of floaty Moog stuff and a keeper. The reggae 12” has a brilliant Version. The Torpedoes LP is a private press New Wave album - not listened properly yet but will probably sell on.
Everything for peanuts, shops, fairs and bootsales. I love the full length Spring Affair, these Donna albums used to be everywhere.

Decent haul. £15 for the lot and now I feel like I’m in an episode of Dance Energy:
Homeboy, hippie, funky dread - Total confusion
Caron Wheeler- Living in the light
DOC - Portrait of a masterpiece
808 state - In yer face
Nightmares on Wax - Dextrous
Good for doing the Running Man
Total Confusion doesnt get the props it deserves - Massive everywhere
I was listening to this yesterday and it came up on there. Total confusion was enormous for our group of friends back in the day
