Hauls Found Today

first thing i thought of:

Just got back from a month’s trip to Australia, returning via Bangkok. Mostly busy with family and friends, but managed to squeeze a bit of opportunistic digging in here and there. Hauls found on a number of days during the trip…

Melbourne. Grabbed a few decent charity shop bits as we were walking around, plus the Hiroshii and Caludia and Antiopdean Anomolies from Wax Museum in the CBD:

Bangkok. Visiting the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market, not expecting to see any records, but came across a CD stall where the guy was also selling a few boxes of his friend’s collection, most 80s Japanese pressings of classic jazz and rock. No time for a lesiurely dig (would definitely have unearthed more treasure!) but did find these:

Last day in Bangkok, ditched the family for a solo dig at Fortune Town. Crazy old style mall full of tech shops, musical instrument shops, camera shops, etc. And about 10 record shops. Recommend spot for sure:

And this, which looked so promising (the cover!, track called Ibiza!), but is actually terrible :joy:

Indeed, couldn’t believe I found it in the wild. Paid 500 Bhat (~£11) VG+ and complete. Shop was an absolute treasure trove, goodness knows what was in all those unopened boxes!

Amazing. I’ve only seen it around the $50/$60 range. That city pop section would’ve been good to look at I’d imagine.

One of my all time favourites. I can still remember the day I bought it, August 1989.

Some nice finds this morning for a total of £28. Check out Bombollini on the Chris Rea LP, as good and Balearic as anything else he put out.

Finally this Stone record comes up in a shop for £1. Batman theme is proper version, never knew this 12 or Warren Zevon on a 12 was a thing. All my house finds seem to be early nineties, both sides strong and it was a more than fair £5 for UPI/Essence.

Got tons this weekend and I didn’t even look on Sunday. Most pleasing at the top for 25p. No more than £1. El Coco remix is very strong, doesn’t look to be a soundclip. John Walker is an easy listening dud.

GQ ‘lies’ will turn up soon but this is lovely too.

The Tamba Trio is a great bossa LP, 1963 mono Brazilian pressing. How it ended up in a car boot off the A3 is anyone’s guess.

Not found one of these in the wild before… Love the Firebird label art. Such a reference record to recalibrate perceptions of a hard hitting production and cut. The white US cuts from prelude are mind blowing.
