Hauls Found Today

Nice haul from the boot this morning, the Omar Khorshid was practically mint and cost me 50p! Just the one for sale currently listed at £70, although it’s a lovely record so will be keeping it.

The rest were a mix of 50p and £1 picks apart from McCartney II which was £3.

First Bros record on the forum? The A side is good

Bit of an oddity that one, the A-side is an indie boogie track and seemingly the only ever release by the artist, and then you’ve got the terrible Bros remix on the flip…

I love Eight Little Notes, lovely track!

Scrapped off a solo festival attempt, it was too heartbreaking for me (including a 4 hour Cosmo Murphy set, yes I know).
Had a dig about today and got first pick of what was a limited menu.
I now have what I would consider a ‘Record fair’ playlist to dig for, hence some 60’s pop and anything else well regarded as a ‘classic’.
Xaloc has a hillarious killer disco groove on the first track. Some of the prices being asked…not so sure on that. The rest of the tracks are not good, for me anyway, info welcome on this.

Two pounds each, so I did alright…

Nice! Audrey Hall’s “Eight Little Notes” is a bit of a monster. Still pretty surprised at how cheap it goes for.

On the wants list, it will turn up. Totaly agree, she can sing.

A decent vinyl haul this weekend. Some great books too, including a nice £50 Harry Potter 1st edition that sold quickly. Most finds are now up on eBay or discogs or have already gone to a new home, but this one below is a keeper because I love “Another Day” (as covered wonderfully by This Mortal Coil). Also found an absolutely mint copy of Patrick Cowley’s I Feel Love which I never seem to see these days, other than very worn copies.

I’ve found a lot of these, still pick up very clean unplayed ones as it must have too intense for your average punter at the time. This was also a landmark record for Jon’s local Hi Res night, I started doing the lights around this time and the original mix combined with a huge blast of room filling smoke blew everbody away, the punters literally ran to the dancefloor…bought a few of us to tears.
I dug out the original mix 12 (very tough find as you know) from a local shop with a former friend a couple of decades ago.
In the process of blowing her mind with my DJ prowess and party faciltation she got corrupted into the dance scene, records like this and Kraftwerk ‘The Model’ sealed it.
She was under my wing to learn the art of the DJ, we even went Technics shopping together and bought some nice new ones.
There developed an unspoken passionate tension between us until she bought it up in conversation and it terrified the life out of us.
I fell out with her other half and his pot head ways. Had the most heartbreaking last conversation with her as she wasn’t going to lose her ruin her marriage over this. Facebook tells me they moved to Portugal to get away from me.
I call it ‘I Feel Forbidden Love’

A dealer friend passed on this lot and sent me round to take a look.
I then filled my mates transit van yesterday! Condition varies from bin worthy/mouldy sleeves to excellent. Significant amounts of oldskool, jungle, house and all sorts. Only looked at a few bags so far…

Woah!

Don’t mind a bit of mould and fungus here

£2.50 a go
Physical on a 12, no idea this was a thing, there was no 12 inch of Magic in the (2 hr of digging) pile. Harold Melvin ticks a wantlist item, such a hot 12 now.

Belfast is a good score. Mine is so crackly now. “Magic” does exist on euro 12” but it’s not an extended version. Never seen one!

My slow brain has just computed that there were two copies of Physical there today but I only bought the one.
I’d be very pleased to find Magic too, it’s possible it’s been picked out on the weekend. This shop appears to buy in dealers dross they can’t shift and it’s a tough task to pull out worthwild stuff. You would like it in ther Jolyon, bit of trek, can PM these shops.

Just editing in that tracks like Belfast are now old enough to go full circle and be played out with no fear from the trend police. INMHO

Agree!

Feel free to tell me your secret spots any time

Not the hugest haul, but nice to get some of these semi cheap.

Charity shop in South Yorkshire.

Sorted through so many Val Doonican and brass band records to find:

Egyptian Lover - Egypt Egypt
LFO - LFO remix

Can’t complain at £1 each.

I do like the sound of a brass band though. Are there any half decent brass band records? (I’ve got the Jeremy Deller Acid Brass CD)

Had the LFO remix in my hands today…spooky…
