I don’t bother with adding any cue points etc in rekordbox as I don’t see how deciding how and when your going to mix before your in the actual situation is very interesting.
but, one of the things I do now do on rekordbox is add the covers or inner labels to tracks that don’t have them. it’s surprisingly easy and it really helps me when scrolling through playlists etc. as I’m so much more used to flicking through actual sleeves and remembering things not by what they’re called but just by what the sleeve or label looks like.
to add the images I just use discogs to source the labels or sleeve and download them. then use the info panel in rekordbox and there’s a feature that’s pretty simple to add imagery.
especially useful if you download stuff from soulseek or digi-rip your own records.
Was looking at a second hand Roland DJ-505 but it’s already gone.
So I’m now considering a Pioneer DJM-250mk2 as it looks like I could just play digital files using control vinyl on my decks (presumably with a laptop plugged in, running Recordbox - and the SW comes with the mixer, if I’m not mistaken?)
Anyone else gone this route with using control vinyl? Would you recommend it?
I have that mixer and the control vinyl. It’s handy if you are used to rekordbox. I like it, and you can also link your tidal or apple music accounts to rekordbox now so endless music supply. U can also alternate between your “real” vinyl and the digital files by keeping one deck Phono
I’ve never used rekordbox. Was using traktor (in a very very basic way) but that was ages ago. Haven’t ever got round to any kind of indexing or organization of my digital files (and not really looking forward to that, TBH!)
