100% agree with this Tim. People trying to conflate this with other rip off practices in the industry are way off beam. It’s the collective ethos which makes Glastonbury unique. It’s an incredible thing to be a part of. The organisers from top to bottom do it for love not money.
Newbies querying the fee offered are excused - you don’t know 'til you go!
Have to say the BBC coverage of the actual performances is really excellent. The onstage and in crowd camera work really puts you in the moment. The presenter bits are so cringe though, trying to be positive about every single thing is so transparent and overly earnest
Biggest takeaway for me is just how into the music the crowds are. In the US there’d be more standing and phones while it genuinely looks like people are just having a great time.
Also, James Murphy looks healthy. Was looking rough for a while there.
I haven’t watched any of it this year, or the last few years tbh, because I really can’t stand the BBC’s presentation of it, it’s so typically BBC, blandly middle England.
Like Henman fkn Hill with music or Trooping The B*stard Colour…
Sorry rant over…I just can’t stand the Tory colluding BBC anymore.
James looks great, crowd here in Ireland and like UK are just happy to have good weather at festivals and that makes for a good time…
It’s also in the attitude as well, and geverally the population listens to cooler music. Plus your lot aren’t so overly concerned with looking cool and acting the cunt.
You might think you’re cool but you’re not cool like Nancy Whang😎
Yeah I was fan boying hard on her last night
I think the tambourine players during All my friends probably had the best seats in the house and a well stocked table of drinks…
Same. Its effortless with her.
The Streets- awesome as always. Skinner has the crowd in the palm of his hand.
Cracking performance by Orbital as you’d expect, rounded off by a nice little cameo from Mel C
My god.
Not Coldplay again
Like the homeopathic U2
Peggy Gou knocking out the bangers
And mixing without headphones. She’s incredible.
The Saturday coverage has been a bit shite. Loved LCD yesterday.
Coldplay brought Michael J fox out to play guitar
Little Simz, so good.
