It’s very ‘progressive’ :smiley: :joy::skull:

underrated djax classic

still blows most techno out of the water to this day
Neil Landstrumm - Field Preaching

and another one from Landstrumm

Like if Herbie Hancock listened to 89-91 bleep n bass.

panel beater gangsta tech house. You can blame old Vogel for making tech house a dirty word, because none of the actual tech house producers could match him! radical techfunk to this day.

Marten van der vluten schooling UK producers in 91, more panel beating proto/gangsta tech house.
Major Malfunction - House Shield

Softened a bit by the blues sampling. I wonder if that was inspired by the success of Moby’s ‘Play’ lp and its sample use at the same time?

Kind of made my ears itch

Went to university with Vogel 92-95. Incredibly creative and was amazing to see him take off with Tresor etc. he had the run of the Sussex uni music studio and learnt his trade. His sounds were always the most out there and especially versus the usual student vibe of progressive house, jungle, funk, soul, reggae, hip hop etc. Got some of his and Neil’s early releases somewhere. I don’t play them much tbf.

blew a load of peoples minds with this one. they still went prog house revival though, so I probably didn’t torture them enough. pixilated sound design machine funk.

Detroit beats the panels.

Kalamazoo really really beats the panels

I’ve just got Eddy Grant’s Timewarp on and if it was’nt already playing at 45rpm i’d have sped it up to see if it’s got proto panel beater potential :test_tube: :joy:
