I go to STOOR in Amsterdam every time it’s on, usually coincides with ADE so also do Dave Clarke Presents. Saw British Murder Boys live a year or so ago, fucking epic at 5am.

Cris got Claude Young over for a night at Escape Club in Brighton. That was a lot of fun.

I like a good Daniel Avery soirée. Though his tunes tend to ping rather than bang. But who doesn’t like a good pinger from time to time?!

Too old for that now but used to love it. Best nights/mornings were in BCN for afters on Saturday mornings at god knows where, had 2 mates living there from 97-06. It was better than the also great club nights tbh but felt quite life limiting on the flight home.

I’m listening to some harder edged stuff of late for the first time in a while other than when I’m out running.

I don’t go out, but when I do, of course. My idea is to play a lot of early 90s hard acid records at 33 or in the -23 range. a genre I am christening tankhouse. slow bpms don’t have to be soft!

I could never get beyond LONDON! ACID! CITY! before getting a headache. My old schoolmate Jerome Hill later became a big player within the squat scene but that all passed me by

…from Berlin, DJ Hell (Best hair in techno?) Love Parade 2000

jerome never played any of that stuff though, he was much more in the cube40, landstrumm, subhead, relief records lineage.

A lot of that london acid is just trance.

Also didn’t you rate Weatherall in his hard techno phase?

oh, I see where the confusion is. By hard acid I meant the borderline gabber stuff from 92-94, the likes of dj.ungle fever, drop bass network, bunker records, Freddie Fresh etc.

Not his most intense but this was played by Weatherall

Remember that dom Phillips article where he coined the term ragga techno? Wish that took off, even though that article was quite silly.
