I don’t specifically remember that however… During the Beebs 1987 FA Cup Final Cov v Spurs coverage (Cov fan here), their half-time chat included a slow-mo montage (how very noughties ) of players performing bits of skill, quirky moments etc all set to New Order’s classic Your Silent Face. Silky housewives favourite Des Lynam introduced it after showing footage of a pre-match keepy uppy competition ‘sure it takes skill to make it, but you’ll also need a lot more besides’ etc etc. Cue the music, run VT.
Big NO fan but it always struck me as bizarre, in what’d been one of the most eventful 1st halves in a Cup Final for donkeys… Three goals and another disallowed that they put it on. The things we remember eh?? Still it was a lovely montage
Well that was interesting. As an English person living in Scotland I always like to see Scotland do well. I watched it in my local with a couple of Scottish mates. My prediction of Germany scoring within the first minute didn’t go down too well (and almost happened)
Good ol’ England, could put a glass eye to sleep
Only 3 things guaranteed in life, death, taxes and England underwhelming on the big stage.
I’d like to think it’s gonna get better but let’s be honest it probably won’t
If I was English and won our first game I’d be buzzing. We got filleted by Germany and I’m already buzzing for Wednesday. Maybe this comes with the territory being. Dundee United all my days
