How long til other clubs fans stop looking through their own tinted lenses and realise what happened and this opportunity to make the current situation better? How long til they realise these officials are getting flown out to Abu Dhabi for big money to officiate in matches, a huge conflict of interest. How long til they think how many times has this happened before? It affects every club who have VAR in their matches. It needs fixing and if this situation doesn’t change it, it will continue to get worse .
But what I am saying is that the official made a mistake, it happens ffs. The level of scrutiny that you have put him under could potentially make other officials think twice before making a decision that goes against you.
Mistakes happen, thats life move on…
And since you feel so strongly about this: will Liverpool suggest a game is replayed next time they get a decision that goes their way and another team loses out by human error?
I’m not the club how could I say either way? I dont think this match should be replayed but if nothing is ever challenged nothing ever changes. These useless officials get paid 200k a year and they are making the game worse.
As for ‘useless officials’? It’s human error, it happens. Footballers on that amount each week make worse mistakes and they get away with it without being hounded, harrassed or intimidated.
The absolute reddest of herrings. A non story. And you called Liverpool embarrassing.
As I said, its all viewed through your own tinted lenses. It was interesting how gary nevilles narrative changed from Saturday to Sunday night once his employer had had a word.
Perhaps the truth hurts eh? Or does that particular publication have an agenda against you like the rest of the world do?
Embarrassing? That is your manager (or any other manager) asking for a replay because a decision didn’t go his way. Wanting the league to change the way they’ve operated for 30 years (and a whole lot longer if you count the first division) because Liverpool didn’t get a decision.
Yes, it was the wrong decision but that happens in life.
Then still making the biggest fuss ever in the media over this 4 days later? Is it an attempt to influence future decisions? maybe its so you stay relevant? Who knows?
Whichever way it’s embarrassing…a bit like comparing it to a CL semi final . Spurs away, 6 games into the start of the season is not comparable to a CL semi final. You should know that with your clubs pedigree.
You lot are coming across like those anti Maradona ‘ingerlund’ fans still irked by the hand of god in 1986.
Get over it, accept the apology and move on like every other club would
