Cassette - Top Hits 1982 or something I bought it for The Go-Go’s track
Vinyl - “Vienna” - Ultravox
lp - star wars ost performed by the royal philharmonic orchestra (still play it today!)
12" - either ghost town, specials or rocket, herbie hancock, (my sister was a punk so this used to piss her right off)
Dreaming by Blondie 7” from Boots in Eastbourne. Had to go back for an adapter as it had a big hole in the middle. Honestly cant remember the first LP, lot of home taping going on back then.
First record that I bought for myself was Ice T’s ‘The Iceberg’ LP, actually I asked my mother to buy it for me from Spin Inn records in Manchester.
So Gangsta!
no idea what the single would have been - i bought a lot of singles from the fred meyer music mart.

I remember my grandmother talking me to the shop and buying them for me. So which ever of those came first, that’s the one.
As for an album it was was Adam and The Ants / Kings Of The Wild Frontier or Madness – Absolutely both 1980 albums, not sure which I got first.
First 7" was Blondie - Union City Blue.
First LP was Adam & the Ants - Prince Charming.
First single was Another brick in the wall, first album “deep breath” a Barry Manilo album with the song Mandy on it… Long story and I was only 8 or 9… Still have both but no cover for the PF one… The Manilo album is just a picture of his head…

No Limits! by 2 Unlimited.
despite it charting this was seen as a weird (/“gay”) choice because everyone else was on the Ugly Kid Joe tip. just an eight year-old who liked catchy melodies, repetition and having a good time.
LP: Showaddywaddy Greatest Hits, must have been 1977.
Single: Amii Stewart Knock On Wood & M Pop Muzik, both 12" bought at the same time from WHSmith in Daventry, 1979.
I don’t know what these purchases say about me, it must have been the endless appearances on TOTP that got me!
Single: Oleta Adams ‘get here’ (7”)
Album: Bros ‘push’ (or 5star - can’t remember which was first).
