Did we forget these?
Nuphonic
One of the more imaginative CDs I ever picked up was the Jacques Lu Cont Fabric one. All sorts of unexpected twists and turns, particularly the middle section Richard Strauss into Eurythmics then segueing into Tom Middleton
This was good. Two different takes on it.
Potentially unpopular opinion but the Global Underground series was good for me (not all, but some great ones).
And the React Test series were big for me. Not all great and very eclectic but was a great way for me to find different genres affordably in the early-mid 90s
Marmion, Padilla, Bukem (and occasional happy hardcore) all on a cd for a fiver.
Is this from the same series?
Literally my favourite ever compilation.
No. It’s great though, I have myself. I think it was compiled from a TV series and radio show by Sean Rowley. I have a feeling it was out before the back to mine series started.
When I fancy something a bit old skool, these ones still do it
Yes! Nuphonic also had some corkers -
Being particular faves, as well as this which I remember being massive and rinsed to death:
Emerson in Uruguay had its moments but does feel like a former life now
Great deep house from Paper Recordings.
More of the same.
Glad someone mentioned these good shout @Tomi_V
An all timer
Those Kings of…were absolutely essential. Go for $ now too. Still good value if you pick up the tracks separately. Makes me nostalgic for the time I’d go to Disque and get 2 for £20 on Stop and listen and Choice comps…
Life changing (both of them)
My cousin has it on VINYL
The Sasha Ibiza one I still go to. At the time it was the second cd (the heavier one) but now I listen to the first cd quite a lot. It’s good to work to.
not to be that guy (i’m gonna be that guy) but i have both of them on wax - sealed, no less.
my roommate at the time had them too and his were opened, so we just listened to his. mine stayed pristine.
