I’m in California, and when I wake up, It would be lovely to read all of your great commentary on this thread. It’s looking like a landslide, but any brilliant memes, pics, and takes, I’m here for it. Thanks!
Managed to get 13th in the queue at my polling station left my house at 3am with picnic chair and flask of coffee. Everybody in the queue really cheery talking about how good the last fourteen years have been. Managed to get in the hall at around 7.15 to jubilant scenes clapping etc I had my passport open on the right page to speed things through got to my booth which was cosy and got my election special biro out. Boom big fat X. Job done. Hope Rushi hasn’t done any packing gonna be great seeing him wave tomorrow with fam out side that big black door for another term.
Mad scenez. Feel so jubilant.
I voted first thing, the person I voted for was on the door and the woman who sang on Funny Break by Orbital was volunteering in the polling centre.
As an aside, I was on The Mall around the time Boris got turfed out.
My 6 year old son asked what the photographers were doing so I politely explained that the PM wasn’t very good at his job and they’d got rid of him.
Walking back a bit later, with him on my shoulders we saw two big removal lorrys pulling out of Downing St, lots of Paps snapping away.
My son punched the air and shouted ‘Goodbye, the wretched Prime Minister is leaving!’ Good turn of phrase from a six year old and proper LOLs from some of the photographers
Just popping this here in case anyone missed it. Perfect summation of the last 14 years. Never forget.
I voted.
I’m staying up all night.
Just waking up to a good chuckle and a sober reminder of those fourteen years. Wishing our election in November could be as straightforward and cheery as yours. Keep 'em coming!
