Standard output.
At least that’s what I use with a Xone 23.
Standard output.
At least that’s what I use with a Xone 23.
Standard, as that is the fully wet output for use as a send effect
Thanks J_C, thanks El Zorro - realised I have the wrong cables so just waiting on the postie before I can give this a run out… can’t wait👌🏻
You’ll love it. I’m sending ST Cues from my BigSix mixer to it, lots of fun dubbing
Yeah can’t wait tbh. The Jura Instrumental dubs series are never far from my decks at the moment and have definitely nudged me towards getting this
Showing my ignorance but what are ST cues?
Oh it’s just the name of the channel sends on the SSL BigSix mixer! Stereo Cues
Ahhh I see - that mixer looks like a beast
Pretty thrilled with this little box, thanks for the recommends guys - musical, tactile and really versatile too. Would wholeheartedly recommend the Benidub to any future reader of the thread - really well built sounds awesome & allows you to turn every track into an Idjut Boys dub mix. Mint
What’s the stand it’s on? I think I could use a couple of something like that
It’s an Ikea job my wife bought a while back for her ipad
It’s got height adjust and you can angle the platform from about 15 degrees to 90 degrees which is cool
Bit wobbly but to be fair I’ve not gone at it with an Allen key and a Phillips yet so could probably be firmed up a bit
I also ordered a u shaped Perspex shelf before I thought of pinching Nickys iPad stand
I suspect it will be more stable but doesn’t offer any capability to angle the face plate so will have to prop it up at the back with something
Apologies for the dumb question but can you tap in a bpm and use the beat divide (set to 0.75?) to get a 3/4 echo ala Pioneer FX? ive never noticed the beat divide option before…this could be the answer to not having to use a Pioneer EFX anymore…
You can turn the dial to whatever bpm you want and set it to 3/4 of a beat. It doesn’t automatically detect a bpm. You set everything manually. So you have total control. Hope that helps.
This does a good job of going through how it works:
Jimmy, i had no joy with my Benidub & sent it back. I have XONE23 Allen and Heath mixer thats x2 channel but the mixer does have a send & return…are you using a separate channel for the return from the Benidub that you just bring in & out in the mix? When i read how others are getting it to perform so well its friggin depressing
Now looking at getting a Boss SE50 to see if that works any better??? Have had the Roland Space Echo RE-20 as ive mentioned in an earlier post on this thread…which was ok bit binned that off so the search continues…maybe its the mixer??? Anyone else have this problem with the XONE23?
Yep. What Del said - dial the BPM and set to .75 and away you go
Hey Seanie,
Sorry to hear you didn’t get on with the Benidub
Took me a minute, some help from other Test Presers and a chat with a mate and a new set of 1/4” mono jack single to dual rca cables) to get my head round the Benidub but it’s working a treat.
I’m using it with an Ecler Nuo 2 which has a send return loop with a separate send on each channel which determines how much signal is sent to the delay and then taking it back out of the standard output to the Ecler return ( thanks for the tips on this @J_C & @elzorro ) where the wet signal joins the master.
so to activate the delay I can either
If any of these three are closed signal wont get back to the master channel on the mixer so all can act as an on / off - send on the mixed is probs the best though as when you cut it the returning signal still hits the master creating nice delay tails. I’m also running the feedback setting around 1pm which sounds good
Also I haven’t messed with the oscillator depth / rate settings much as I tend to play soul / boogie / disco etc so can sound pretty pitchy - would probs work well with more techy stuff tho
I don’t know the Xone 23 that well but you would defo need to be able to set your send to “post” rather than prefaced to get much use out of the benidub I suspect as in pre mode all the signal is sent to / through the delay meaning channel eqs and fader are redundant, also if the send return is only on the master and not on the individual channel you’ll l be a bit limited and I suspect this would apply to most effect units…
Hope this helps - gimmie a shout if there’s anything else you wanna know
I use the Beni Dub and an Xone 23.
The Ext-On button on mixer should be on (red).
Green light (mute off) on the BeniDub.
Set the BeniDub controls as you like them.
Press the filter button (blue) on the XOne23 to start the effect on the channel you want.
Fuck around with controls on BeniDub and the filter on the mixer to make everything sound as wobbly as you want.
No idea if I’m doing it right, or if it sounds better on other mixers, but it definitely works with the Xone23.
This is my starting position on the BeniDub:
Damm that looks the shittt! I’ve a Xone 43:C mixer and would love to invest in a proper fx box or pedal, or something!
