Yeah man, love them.
This one is unreal:
Many thanks! Two tracks i haven’t heard
That just went in the Discogs cart. I love finding out that something this good exists. Makes music feel endless.
Right? It nails the Platonic ideal of an edit-based house track because it literally contains 100% of the original track, and lets it run from start to finish, but stylishly enhances it along the way.
Antyway, that’s a great purchase. The A-side is also an ass kicking classic, at least it was in my local scene.
Hey…did you ever end up grabbung that Embryo album that has Mal Waldron (and Jimmy Jackson, who played with Waldron on The Call) all over it? Was curious to know what you thought.
That improved my morning immeasurably and immensely. Thank you.
Perfectly put and yes I did buy it but it’s yet another asteroid hurtling through the void of our fucked off postal system. Some things show up the day you them and others a month later
For a long time I only played the Cadillac side of that 12”. Turned out Planets is immense!
Love that! They really don’t make them like that anymore.
I might just select a bunch of records from this thread over the next few weeks and do a ‘deep house ingredients’ special on my show
one of the many pieces of music i’ve picked up and bought purely on the strength of the cover art only to discover a rich vein of deep, deep in Prime Numbers.
this thread is rapidly weaving it’s way to becoming a fine tapestry, indeed.
End of the night classic for your stardust memories of a long lost underground:
Where the sample is the bark and the track is the bite:
This one has never left my bag. The Hamilton Bohannon sample is just the right mix of uplifting and nostalgic, the simple addition/subtraction of the kick to create drops is so powerfully executed, and if introduced with the right lead-in track this will always slaughter a dancefloor:
Missed this - thanks for that, right up my street these days
Perhaps you might like this one as well, same eyes down, motorik vibe, could have been on Workshop
That’s Two Tons of Fun sampled in the Sound Stream jam
