obvious selections but that’s not an inherently bad thing, is it

same – and they SOUND amazing too, were they remastered or something?

Definitely, and they’re in an anti-static inner sleeve, wish more labels would follow suit.

As an aside, Jamie Tiller has maintained his social media presence with quite a few mixes online (wish he had stuck to the new age stuff however) but what happened to Tako? For a period every mix he put online was a complete education, much the same way as Jose’s tapes years ago.

Used to have this on repeat. The Teena Marie track is an epic closer.

Heard Tako isn’t crazy about revealing his finds, so maybe he’s avoiding the “ID in the comments” crowd. Pure conjecture, though.

Then again, some people just don’t like to make mixes, which is totally fine by me, too.

My brother lived in Tokyo for 3 years and he held parties at Yellow. I took these off him when he moved back. Introduced me to so much good music.

Interesting, thanks @MGG he made his name with those online mixes, such a shame he seems to have stopped

Yeah the mastercuts were great. Taught me a lot before I was plugged into the internet

This has got some good stuff on it, wish it had his ESG productions on it though.

Took years to get a copy after Kid Batchelor had this as No 1 in his all time House records: https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Pulse-Of-New-York/release/332922

So much good interesting stuff I’ve never heard about posted so far. The Analog Africa comp on Cape Verdean music from 2016 was an eye opener for me.

Love the Deekay Jones track from that album…seems it was a big tune for Eddie Richards, Mr C, Kid Batchelor bitd
