Those are good looking tee’s
I really wanted on of these CP / Sebago jackets that dropped on Thursday.
I wasnt sure of my size. so dithered buying one online, went to the CP shop to try one on, by the time I got there they were all sold out in the size I needed and when they gone they gone.
Nothing really tickled me this year, Beams,EG bar one scarf Battenwear etc all been poor.
Is it connected to OP going down the pan quality wise maybe, They don’t even bother to put measurements on their site now, Shame as they were so good.
Probably just getting old.
Hopefully a long bitter winter awaits trudging into the office in the midst of the next lockdown.
I bought some nice Beams wide legged tapered 50’s inspired chinos. Sizes were very confusing mind. Took a while to suss it out and still had to adjust them.
Yeah, Oi Polloi is a shadow of its former self. Bland and uninspiring.
You’re right about Battenwear too, although I’ve just bought a Battenwear t-shirt in the Oi Polloi sale to totally contradict myself.
Garbstore is always good though, they had some decent bits in their recent sale.
I’m probably being bit harsh on OP, don’t suppose they could keep always being way out ahead of everyone. But still don’t understand a mail order place not doing measurements.
Am up in Manchester soon so be good to see the store as not been in for a couple of years.
I’m indulging my teenage fantasies of being a paninaro living in Milano and have ordered a vintage Best Company polo-shirt
Ettoflex are ace. I found a second pair in tan leather I forgot I had the other day. Unfortunately too big for me.
Best value shoe makers there are for me. Fit true to size as well.
Nice colour .
Can confirm on current Oi Polloi status, really bland stuff and loads of Ralph Lauren Polo gear. Not for me.
It’s very much going the polo, stone island way I main Some of the clothes and trainers they were having on proper mag were that bad I had to stop reading it.
Interesting to read about the poor state of Oi Polloi - used to be on the list whenever I hopped over the hill, sadly now seems to be identi-kit clobber. With that in mind any suggestions on more mainstream shops that i) have a bit of a social/environmental conscience and ii) make some decent gear at a reasonable price. Not massive amounts of disposable income atm. Cheers.
I use peggs and son (Brighton), liquor store (Brum) and Hip Store (Nottingham) in main
The Bureau Belfast, Kafka Mercantile and The Son of a Stag my goto’s for general stuff and Rivet and Hide for denim, and Clutch Café when my cryptos come in.
Edit: Peggs great too.
Community Clothing was a recommendation on here earlier which I bought some socks from. Looks good for basics like T-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans and is also socially conscious.
Cheers mate, will check them out.
