Classic club wear circa 92
I think I wore mine in Ibiza!!

Not exactly espardilles

Made in Clifton (Nottz?)

I like the goretex runners for dog walking but find to clunky for running & used to wet feet

Looking for a new good winter jacket. My Battenwear has done me well for years and is still in top condition, but feeling the urge (you really can’t have enough jackets, especially up here. It’s almost too warm with inside lining. Wanting something warm and weatherproof, but still thin enough for layers.

I don’t need another smock as I have a new Patagonia, plus a vintage one, and my favourite vintage Berghaus.

I have been tempted by the Yarmouth Oilskins jackets, apart from the price.

Unfortunately, I can’t justify spending £300-£500 on a jacket when I’m saving up to buy and build my own kit house (and land). And I have about 10 coats and jackets.

Anyone you dapper chaps know of anything similar but cheaper or any good sales on?

That’s been available for quite a few years now. In typical Japanese style, Toys McCoy specialise in recreating exacting replicas of garms from various movies and film stars. Theyve always been a bit obsessed with Steve McQueen and Travis Bickle.

I purchased the mustard US Marines sweatshirt around 2018. Didn’t give it much thought wearing it in the UK, but was getting some strange looks/comments in the US - they dont take too kindly to folk impersonating those in service. I sold it on soon after that.

Merrel Moab 2 fit wide and feel like you’re hiking on clouds. Most comfortable shoe I’ve worn in for ever, but also work on a hike. Not heaps of ankle support (compared to a boot), but they’re still sure-footed.

Yeah I knew about the whole Military/Navy reconstruction thing. Never seen the replica Taxi Driver thing though!

If you are looking to buy any of their stuff, this website is worth a look. I got a Buzz Rickson jumper from there a while back, way cheaper than buying it in the UK and free shipping. Noticed they have a lot of Toys stuff too

Theres a whole capsule of the stuff - its how they started the brand. The chap was originally part of The Real McCoy’s brand, but they fell out and he set up on his own.

As some of you may know, I’m a massive Japanese clothing fan, I’d even go so far to say I was a complete obsessive bitd (Im better now), and I love some of the quirky stories around how some of the brands came about. For example, another great label is Pherrow’s. Apparently the chap who founded it in tbe 90s, wanted to call it Fellow’s. He was trying to say that down the phone and well, you can guess what happened…
