Clobber - a clothes thread

Love that Tee still have a navy one and the all black canvas shoes were very nice.

I remember getting them in Spain when they came out late 80s and wearing them at home people thought they were the shoes Mike Tyson wore in the ring lol

these shoes were pretty great, especially for us ollie draggers who’d blow holes in our nikes in a day or two.

Not as good as these and I’m glad I kept the box :heart_eyes:Airwalk Jason Lee’s.

Still got a wearable pair of Gators. Nothing brings out the DePop crowd like walking around in a pair of sneakers covered in spirals and therefore I don’t wear them as often as I’d like :joy:

They were a huge company in the 80s with the best team and all time classic boards…

Yeah I went to the Swatch/visions tour thing and it was pretty much the birth of X-games level skate mania.

I have a VHS tape of that tour… Was that the one with the huge half-pipe with spine and extensions every where…

Yeah man it was amazing. They ran a mini movie for each skater before they came out.

i know this is the clobber thread, not the OAP skater thread - but your mention of gator reminded me of this guy who’s THE world-class 80’s skate deck collector and he happens to specialize in gators:

he doesn’t endorse gator, but loves the designs and mark was obviously his favorite skater of the times. worth a look-see.

I walked past that shop the other day, a friend was showing me around seven dials as I’d never been that way before, looked great and I was going to pop in on the way back but a few beers later I’d forgotten all about it. One to visit next time I’m in Brighton.

There was a café or something around the corner which said it did vinyl too, but was closing by the time we went past it, do you know if that’s worth a visit?

Hey, no I don’t, I’ve always wondered myself, must pop in sometime. One not to miss is the strange old shop just up from the station, mainly sells soundtracks but just an amazing time capsule.

UPDATE for the last 2 weeks I’ve been carrying round a responsibility to visit said vinyl shop and report back; upstairs from a coffee shop called PUCK; anyway I did yesterday; small, curated collection of albums (only) across multiple genres. Some new, some old. A bit Vinyl Bro perhaps. Not for me.

Is the old guy who runs that record shop still around? I went in there a few years ago, there was only me and the owner in the shop, I selected a few records but put a Tomita on back as I didn’t have quite enough cash on me. He spotted that I’d put it back and asked me to pass it to him, he then began to play it really loud over the shop system, ‘It’s pretty good that isn’t it?’ he said, ‘stick it in your bag you can have that one for free.’ A perfect little moment that I’ll always associate with the piece of music below.
