Sean’s a star. I just worked out recently that I was at an inspiral carpets gig at the Brixton academy in 1990 that he put on. A case of life throwing a cosmic lasso around you that would take many moons to register consciously.
Sean was #2 at Underworld (T-shirt printing company) in 1990.
I was #2 at an artist management company who looked after what was then known as ‘t-shirt bands’. Underworld were printing anything up to 20k shirts a year for us at that time so I knew him quite well. The boss at Underworld was proper naughty east end geezer, so as you can imagine there was a lot of hi jinx esp once the scally bootleggers got involved a couple of years later!
They did the Cool As F**k shirts which was probably the connection. Here’s a little Underworld chart from 91ish from an article in The Face…
slight tangent: been grading a bunch of 90s techno recently and a bunch of 12s on sabrettes show up. totally EBM gritty electro vibes. some good stuff in there
