When Clubs Go Wrong

My scariest was the Hammersmith Palais circa ‘93… glass bottles flying around, people clocking us immediately as college kids in all the wrong clobber… hasty exit

Another kick back for Irish clubs, people have been campaigning for years to get later open hours (3am is the latest and has been years with some having to close at 2am) this is Robbie Kitt David Kitts younger brother who has been one of the main speakers for years…:pensive: backwards we’re going.

Had to cancel my DJ last night because outside the venue an elderly man tripped and fell into the wheel arch of a passing bus, which decapitated him and left his head sitting on the road.

Then a bunch of drunk revelers started picking it up, thinking it was a Halloween prop, some guy teabagged it. The poor old man’s head ended up quite a distance from his body in a gutter before the police got there and shut the entire street down.

Friend just reminded me of this & not gone wrong as some of these
Sheffield 90 / early 91 our mutual friend ( shall remain nameless as for all I know is on here) was very into the more ‘esoteric’ end of Warp ( probably preferred Clonk over Test One)

Did a night at Occasions with an afters at CJs where he played Clonk & similar tracks to a confused set of people who had all been at a hardcore night til 2 wanting it banging

CJs / Ceejays was a reggae blues that had house at the weekend
In downstairs tiny room they pushed pool table to the back & put a piece of wood over it & added a strobe & smoke machine
Main bar you could buy red seal & later pills ( & they would tot the order up with your redstripe like buying peanuts, a pint & crisps )

Its not as weird as I remember
