German wine. I’ve been meaning to start a wine thread on this forum. It’s getting more exposure, but rieslings and pinot noir from Germany are some of the loveliest and best deals in wine. The freshness, acidity, and complexity can’t be beat. And at 10% ABV on some of the rieslings you can have a bit without getting smashed.
Starting to enter a nicer slice of the Anthropocene wherein Australian growers/winemakers are less likely to produce super sweet rieslings, so you can now roll the dice on an untested riesling and there’s a decent chance it’ll be snappy/crisp. Same thing with chenin blanc, chance at something minerally and interesting rather than sickly sweet.
Because hot weather* is coming for some (+30celcius) : Beer and sparkling water is a fantastic dry non-bad decision encouraging beverage in the heat. more specifically Hefeweizen or Weissbier/ Whitbeer.
