Whats the mix you often go back to that we might not know?

Never knew her personally, contacted her a few times for IDs and she was always happy to share knowledge… discovered some amazing Bruton tracks courtesy of Siba, RIP

Probably The Chemical Brothers essential mix from 1995, so old they had only just changed their name from The Dust Brothers. I can remember listening to it broadcast live on Radio 1 at 2am and recording it on a 120 minute cassette which was my most prized possession, no streaming in those days!

Wildly eclectic with hip hop, funk, electro, acid, techno and even the Beatles. Everything they did from here on was a disappointment to me.

My favourite mix from the Moments In Love series of mixes. #11

A great selection by @nick_cubs

Why thank you… these are great fun for me to put together and record. The idea is just odd pop music that I really like, put together in a sympathetic way. I made them for myself really but glad that others appreciate them - thanks Niall

I’ve still got a mix of theirs on tape from a similar period, they were still called The Dust Brothers then I think, it’s off Radio 1’s Evening Session & there’s an interview with them just before the 30 min mix with Steve Lamacq.
One of the things they talk about is a new discovery of theirs from France called Daft Punk, who I think they refer to as ‘a bloke from Paris’ or something.
They later play Da Funk in the mix which starts off with a bonus beats bootleg of Oasis’ Live Forever

Zadar or the Electric Elephant one? First half of the morning was Moonboots then Jason Boardman. We talking about 2007?
Killer! Best ambient mix by far but I think is not available anymore. Got it is in my old iPod

It’s titled Four Hours in Zadar, I think around 2014? It had a few of the nado releases from around that time in there… Would love to hear the one you are talking about though!

Tony Humphries on Troubles show in '92… just sums up a top time for me, we saw him at the Milk Bar was just amazing, met the Mrs two years before. Still have the original tape and the Mrs, result.

Salute 2 ‘Reach Out and Touch Your Dream’ which was the best out of the series for me. Now lost on an old laptop and I can’t find all 3 parts anywhere.

If anyone can help or point me in the right direction…? :grimacing:

This from Mr Scruff short and so nice golden age hip hop:

It’s probably on a few people’s radars but I’ve rinsed Young Marco’s Xlr8r podcast. Always go back to it. Full of killer wonky reggae and dub.
