Just copped this - sounding fabulous & the sun is out
It’s very, very good.
At the moment my latest expeditions into the world of records that were made a long, long time ago are all of the dubs on Vanguard and the like
Latest two I have bought are:
Carol Williams - Can’t Get Away - special club dub (same as on the Isle of Jura comp that I can’t find a copy of)
Barbara Roy - Gotta See You Tonight - extended dub version
My guess is that there must have been a DJ back then playing these types of records exclusively to some tripped out dancefloors.
They are both crackers, and the Carol Williams 10" is pretty rare.
It cost be a few dollars but I seem to be going through a weird phase where every record is hitting my $75 max or costs under $5, no in between. The Barbara Roy I pulled out for $4 in a moment of pure luck. Always look at the records under the bins, things fall through the cracks.
Ha, yes that resonates, these days with my purchases, it either a financial upset or excitingly cheap.
Very nice indeed, lucky finds at any price
Love the N.M. Band track, been on the wants list for a while.
New Steve Bug & Cle 12 on Nu Groove.
Got this mainly for the dub which is not on YT at the moment. But the vocal is not bad. Very Parkway/Mark Seven
Normally bulk listing hauls for your enjoyment or otherwise. Today linking just one of todays found in a shop, which might follow on nicely from that Jackie Silvers above
great record, terrible cover. i don’t remember if the movie is any good.
but that cover - totally looks an illicit look at a private act and THEN to put MIKE’S MURDER in the upper corner… there’s a whole range of questionable graphic design choices made there.
Proper record.
pleased to see this arrive in the mail yesterday. been wanting this on vinyl for OHHHHhhhhh 25 years or so.
oh and a juno order came in too. played some catch-up with some leng records and impulse bought that reuben vaun smith record.
Alex Kassian new 12” just arrived today.
