A bunch of 7" bargains arrived this week, this being my favourite at the moment
It’s a @DubwiseVinyl tip
All about the other side for me but yeah great record.
Not actually the absolute latest addition to the collection but still. Been after this for years but haven’t found a reasonably priced copy. Was hoping to find it cheap as it is a swedish record but had to pay a little in the end. Could have gone in the balearic thread as it doesn’t really get more balearic than this in my opinion. Monster record!
Found some nice bargain bin scores today
Ace single Take from Terry Hall’s sophistopop outfit Colourfield. Has a great version of the evergreen Windmills Of Your Mind on the B-Side.
One of F Comm’s finest moments, the gorgeous, wide screen 2LP set Mercy Street by A Reminiscent Drive. Highly underrated.
we all know this one - Will surely come in handy at a party somewhere in the future
Grabbed this one on the strength of the 100% Silk label - was not dissapointed.
Had never seen/heard this one before but grabbd on sight cos prime era Herbert innit. Plus he’s remixing Motorbass, Derrick Carter, Chris Nazuka and Chez Damier.
the minorinvention edit of Lisbon nights
My only beef is that it’s too short. I would have cut the other edit out and run that one for twice as long.
wife took me to Devon for my 40th and managed to get some digging in
Picked this up in drift records in totnes. Lovely town by the way.
Totnes is a town… you must come from the big city?!
yeh London
lol beat me to it
Late nights, the internet, records and yours truly are a dangerous combo. Couldn’t resist this lot last night. I’m just going to post the description from the website for each one, as i’m feeling lazy.
Taking their first bow with Bristol’s deepest crew, the ‘Deep Dream Generator’ hustles four slices of sleek, bubbling UKG and suave downbeats dressed in plush pads, moving from the buoyant head nodder ‘Jump Blue’ to spiky/smooth Steve Gurley-style feminine pressure in ‘All the Things,’ and pivoting off flinty snares in the lush lather of ‘Sonntags.’ The title track however makes time for a bedways vibe with slower street soul groove gilded with new agey FM synth lines and breathy coos to take you there.
4 nice mellow balearic house / downtempo jams from Sweden (via the reliable Safe Distribution).
Mellow and cosmic library tackle from UK jazzman Greg Foat & James Thorpe, lots of nice hippy synth jams, often with rhythm box/ drum machine. Chilled, nice and easy.
Trippy downtempo pop instrumentals with a disco feel. Cool 6 track EP from 2018.
Mitro - a moniker of Natal Zaks. 6 experimental, downtempo, ambient, IDM-ish cuts
Ace 3 track EP by Natal & Milán Zaks (Central & Sports), sitting in the ambient space between jazzy-improv-house and dubby, hypnotic electronics.
Deep, jazz-inspired electromance and broken beat from Nick Araguay, striking straight between the eyes of Dego and The Other People Place on his debut for Sähkö Effortlessly refreshing vintage vibes, Araguay exerts a very canny spin on deep house, Detroit electro and South London broken beats at every turn.
"'Natten’ is the fifth album by Bremer McCoy, the Danish duo that started out as a part-time reggae sound system and made a full transition to creating transcendental ambient jazz.
that bremer/mccoy is lovely, i’ve been listening to that for a few weeks now. got super mad at alexa when i was trying to request it via voice until i did some reverse engineering by getting it to play and then asking who it was - alexa responded “this is so-and-so by brAmer/MC coy” (like it was a hip hop MC)
decided to buy a pile of cheapies just for the fun of it all and ended up getting a ton of dissident records. why not?
Nice one!
Ace record this. I have a copy myself. Jamie Paton is a mate of mine from up here in Dundee. Lives in Bristol now
