New member long time test presser fan! Hola Apiento!
Recent purchasers: New Gilles P Cuban compilation on Soul Jazz and the Mr Bongo Record Club comp 4 - it’s got a mad African dance track edit by Mike D!
Old: 3x Donald Byrd early 80’s lps - including love has come around
Grabbed the Yumiko Morioka reissue of Resonance, from Métron Records. Beautiful ambient piano music, and the reissue has one of the most beautiful covers. Highly recommended.
Hello all. My record buying has stopped almost entirely (although I’ve bought a load of tapes lately) but I did make the effort for this one, getting all the Innate ones as they come.
This ep landed today, I kept away from listening to any clips, the whole record flows just nice, 4 great takes, I think Seans (Hardway Brothers meet Monkton Uptown) is my fav right now, a brilliant record x
Been waiting on that Laura Groves LP since it sold out at US distro pretty quickly BUT I just got a very nice reissue of The Wild Tchoupitoulas LP which sounded absolutely fantastic at home. Had me doing a boogie across the room, rare these days…I also ended up looking up what “Two-way Pocky-way” means, and apparently it’s Creole for “Get the hell out of the way”. LOL
picked up the new Laura Groves after seeing your IG post about it, @apiento. Lovely indeed. I’ve got the two that came before that and enjoy those as well. She’s got a quirky take on pop. Good stuff. Just received the Bicep 3LP, along with some older 12"s today. Dos Palos - Remixes 12" with Seahawks and BJ Smith remixes, and a split Coyote / Smith & Mudd 12" with an epic Nhessingtons remix. Went on a bit of a retail therapy binge during the Capitol Siege a couple weeks back, so also received the Mogadisco / Analog Africa compilation, Wamono A to Z Vol 1, Primitive Painter 2LP reissue, Slowdive - Outside Your Room reissue, and FSOL Archived 8. Bunch of stuff sitting in the new arrivals bin here.
