Whats the last record you bought?

Reissue of the very excellent Rome Jefferies - Good Love is out now on Backatcha Records. Just picked up mine tonight. A boogie holy grail!

They have three incredible Greg Henderson titles all for 30 pounds. A tenner a 12. Amazing price considering what the originals go for. Cut at 45rpm too. 350 copies of each. The Rome Jefferies 12 is so good.

You can still pick up Ike white for $1. Could go with your $1850 acetate of Fibonacci Sequence.

In the comments there are already people saying that because they were free promos (he definitely paid for the acetates I’m assuming) that he should give the money to charity because, and I loved this bit, he doesn’t need the money.

whatever you think of Sasha & was never a mega fan he was a great DJ

Had his own very good twist on the near rave / piano monsters at Shellys ( Lazerdrome)
Pioneered something unique at Renaissance ( evidenced by the mid CD)

Yes it spawned some awful sub genres & he went that way but proper top of his game for a bit

& anyone that could put Sinead Nothing over Techno Trance was doing something right

Had some great nights at Renaissance in Mansfield and other dos he did in Manchester/Leeds but then the music he played become really boring prog mid 90s and I dropped off (after the first Renaissance CD).

The Sasha Down Under tape from Australia 1992 remains peak Sasha for me. The mixing and programming were light years ahead. Incredible stuff.

They had a room with a pool table

& it was in (fucking) Mansfield

Only went once for Tony Humphries - God knows what he made of Mansfield

I was in Sydney at the time he came down, a proper breath of fresh air amidst a lot of very harcore DJs at the bigger nights.

I was there just after. The legend was strong.

His set at the big Aztec rave out at Homebush was fantastic, and he was down on the floor to the close at about 9.00am having a great time.

Totally agree. He was lightyears ahead of most UK DJs technically as well at the time.

I still occasionally listen to that ‘Sasha Tape 2’ mix from The Eclipse - the first one with his Leftfield/Whitney mix - brilliant from start to finish
