Not bought a huge amount of records during lockdown. Decided to get back into music making with having a bit more free time. Pretty much all the music I have bought has been on a more downtempo/ambient/new age vibe. Music to take me out of my 4 walls into wide open spaces.

Last purchase was Jomon Sho by Yas Kaz on the excellent Glassy Mistakes label. Stunning music!

Just picked up the Alex Maas record from last year. Really enjoying it. Seems to complement the weather at the moment.

Nice left-of-centre/ambient (I guess) one on recommended Irish label

wanted this on vinyl forever, and TODAY it arrived in the post:

should go in the “what are you listening to RIGHT NOW” thread as well as the “favorite AMBIENT records” thread as well because this is a dead fuckin’ cowboy ambient classic.

Vault sessions 1 and the repress of Mr White.

Just nabbed this after a couple of years with it as an earworm. Might be a bit left of what folks round here get down with, I dunno but I’m really digging 2 Step and rare groove since lockdown

Flip is killer too

A Sea For Yourself

Legendary Surf/Funk/Psych soundtrack! Created by an incredible aggregation of California Music royalty–Rick Henn, Dennis and Daryl Dragon, plus other friends - this ultra-scarce, in-demand soundtrack for Hal Jepsen’s 1972 film A Sea For Yourself features an astounding journey of styles from funky, freeform workouts to homegrown, back porch rock to breezy, bossa-tinged instrumentals. A fine blend of surfing and music, the film put together the world’s best surfers practicing their art in France, Australia, California, and Hawaii with a powerful original soundtrack.

Here’s some more wax I ordered today - mainly easy vibing home stereo specials with a distinctly common thread throughout - that being good female energy and a modern spin on vintage sounds.

These were all records I’ve been listening to on Spotify for ages and was lucky enough to have found the vinyl all in one handy location.

Nicola Cruz ‎– Prender El Alma (ZZK Records)

The Shacks EP - The Shacks (Big Crown)

Kit Sebastiaen - Mantra Moderne (Mr Bongo)

The Spacebomb House Band‎ – Known About Town: Library Music Compendium One (Speacebomb records)

79.5 - Predictions (Big Crown)

It’s actually Mort Garson, who did Mother Earth’s Plantasia.

Just ordered a copy of this off of Discogs after hearing it on a Seth Troxler mix.
