What you going to?

Who is going to the TP thing at Jazz Cafe on Friday?

Iā€™m in the southest part of France or Iā€™d definitely be there with bells on. Itā€™ll be a fun one x

Daughter wants to hire small (50ish) venue for birthday party in East London Limehouse/Shoreditch area would be ideal.

Anyone got any top tips?

Excited to see Jon Satrinxa do his thing in Osaka on the 23rd! Flying solo that night, my event buddy has prior commitments. Oh, and seeing Iron Maiden the next evening. Two off the bucket list, both representing different points on the personal timeline: middle-aged me is looking forward to the maestro play a small event in an intimate setting, teenage me is stoked as f___ to finally see Maiden. :mirror_ball: :metal:

Ha - thatā€™s quite the balearic juxtaposition!

Someone I know booked Chiringuito at Bethnal Green, just opposite the Tube station.

Think the venue may have changed names. Itā€™s the place overlooking the park on Cambridge Heath rd.

Youā€™re a star, thanks!

I have a spare ticket for AR Kane at Jazz Cafe tomorrow. Donā€™t need any cash for it, just donā€™t want it to go to waste. If anyone wants it let me know.

I enjoyed Moritz von Oswald last night. It was punchier than his recent recorded stuff with him running drum and percussion tracks and a myriad of FX, a live drummer and amazing keyboard player. At times it was On The Corner type jazz, sometimes pretty mad, sometimes mellow, at times more techno. I thought it was really inventive and impressive.

Unfortunately though it was one of the shortest gigs Iā€™ve ever been too, about 40 minutes. When they went off most of the audience assumed were coming back for a second half but alas no. Bit cheeky given Ā£35 a ticket I thoughtā€¦Thatā€™s possibly explained though by his health. I hadnā€™t realised heā€™d had a stroke and was clearly impaired with loss of movement in arm and difficulty walking. He cut quite an incongruous figure as the proclaimed ā€œdub techno godfatherā€ in blazer, pinstriped shirt, pocket square and Versace glasses. Controlling it all, poker faced but occasionally cracking a half smile when the trio really clicked into collective gear. He was clearly enjoying himself and still making great music which is great to see.

Iā€™ve got a spare ticket now.

Anyone want to go along?

Hopefully the back garden this weekend as there might be a chance to see the Northern Lights. Big ejection incoming, (that has nothing to do with our wedding anniversary this weekend).
