What’s the last record you destroyed?

Holding a clutch of sevens this week, I managed to drop one, instantly caught it and heard it snap in half:

Not expensive, but it didn’t half tick me off .

Previous destructions include:

Floyd Cramer “on the rebound” US 7”.
Tried to remove a small edge warp and cracked it.

Sly Stone “crossword puzzle” US 7”
Bought it, placed it down, sat on it. Textbook. Damn thing wasn’t 24 hrs old.

What’s your cheap/expensive breaks ?

A friend got this in the post! Looks like it was run over by a forklift truck, which presumably reversed just to make sure

DJing while twatted back in the 90s I managed to snap an impossible to find promo with Frankie’s Sound Factory Dub of Diana Ross’ Someday We’ll Be Together.

Hopefully it’ll be the ‘last’ record I destroyed

My 8 year old was 3 at the time and decided to use a record as disc to push herself along the ground with. Scratched the whole thing to the nth degree. I could t get mad because she was having so much fun but that’s when the records moved downstairs.

I’m still waiting for the person who bought them all to ask me about it but I guess they have a lot to go through,

I broke a copy of bits and pieces by sly and robbie… : )

Djing at a newly rebranded club in Chamonix we were given a free run at the old club’s record library.
Oh if only I knew then what I know now!
Anyway, I grabbed copies of all the obvious stuff that I didn’t already have.
The 12” I feel Love with the 15min patrick cowley mix. I was excited to play it, so excited in fact that I let the hot tip of the spliff I was smoking drop right in the middle of the dirty instrumental break. It’s a molten reminder of those heady days :joy:

You can’t leave it there!

Which is probably also what your dad said?

Many years ago at a summer house party and playing my recently purchased copy of Smokers Delight on a battered old hifi outside. Meanwhile said record slowly turned to a crisp as we all got fried.

When I was 14 and just beginning to buy vinyl I (cluelessly) left my little 7" collection, including a copy of 3rd Bass’ Gas Face, leaning against the radiator in my small box bedroom and yes the inevitable happened…

Lost plenty over the years but this is the only one I’ve snapped, luckily it was a cheap un !

Mega blurry pic on a old phone but it’s Crown Heights Affair - Galaxy of Love if anyone doesn’t have it and wants a cheap belter :kissing_heart:

That destructive time of the year again.

Backed my office chair onto it (really should stop putting records on the floor).

Joe Bataan “The bottle”

Fine crack(s) and plays with a click. But I know it’s there now .

Yesterday I snapped up and binned an already broken 7” Demis Roussos, Forever and Ever which my daughter had made into a clock and given me for Christmas possibly 10 or more years ago. It was time.

tune!

I left The Tribal EP on the back shelf of the car and it melted. Annoying but even more so as this was in Manchester not Miami.

Had a fumble with the mr scruff keep it solid steel complilation a few months ago and the records flew out of the gatefold. One of them now has a massive chunk of vinyl missing.
