Not really got an opinion on him but what is wrong with wheeling out a few old fave for everyone rather than fellow djs. I would imagine he got popular by being able to mix when most could not, putting the hours in and being an ok guy. He was also a canny operator, when he couldn’t keep up with hardcore as it mutated into jungle he stopped playing it and switched to house.

I’m interested to see how it turns out. It’s potentially very good for clubs up here in Scotland. European football is pretty much the only way to get some decent dough in. EPL teams barely care for the Europa.
Looking forward to Mondays Europa draw and hoping for a nice late winter trip to Barcelona.

IMO it’s good for smaller teams for added cash and European experience. The big clubs will always turn their nose up at it. Baffled me why teams do that about the Europa League too. If you qualified for it rather than the Champions League, because you wern’t good enough the season before, surely you owe it to your supporters to give the competition a shot?

I think so. Not many clubs win any European trophies. The reality for a team like Spurs, say, is that there’s more money in a higher finish in the EPL than winning a lesser European cup. The only one that matters is the Champions League in the current climate.
So is it a route in to the Europa League knockouts ?
You’re right, for the clubs, money talks at the end of the day. The might and money of the Premier League and Champions League mean owners are just after the cash. Global supporters have fallen into line with this, because what’s a day out to a cup final if they’re a distant observer. Winning any trophy is an achievement.

Thursday-Sunday programme is a nightmare for clubs and supporters but the CL spot prize now is huge and shouldn’t have taken so long to come about.

Not the KO. If you finish 3rd in the Europa group, you drop into the conference. Might be like the Europa that if you win it, you go straight into the group stages.

UEFA Cup used to be a great competition back in the day, really strong teams in it. Think its only the EPL that doesn’t care for the Europa League though even if the format is now shite (couldn’t possibly have a straight knock out that’d never do). As has been said EPL money trumps everything. As a Cov City fan we missed out on European football in 87 - still believe we’d have won the Cup Winners Cup the following season!

My team, MUFC, take it seriously, probably because we can’t compete for the big 2 trophies anymore since Fergie left, won it in 2017 and lost in the final last season, Chelsea also won it a few years back, so it’s not all English teams.
Should be renamed the Unai Emery trophy after how many times he’s won it though.

I was in Stockholm for the final in 2017 with memories I’ll treasure more than finishing fourth in any other season.
